Seeking executive input for oil price solutions.
In the letter President Biden wrote to oil executives on Wednesday, he stated that they should begin working with Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to find a solution to America’s rising oil prices. The president’s administration has confirmed that Secretary Granholm is planning to meet with oil company officials on June 23.
“We want to try to start that conversation and get something done… we are willing to help them,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated on Thursday. She conveyed the administration’s desire to hear ideas for solutions from the energy companies themselves, saying “maybe there’s a way that we can help them meet that capacity.”
