Was not listed in pending case dismissals.
On Monday, the Supreme Court released a list of pending appeals they would not be taking up in the upcoming months. Notably, an appeal made by Bayer was not on that list, which seeks to overturn a decision to charge the company $25 million in damages to a man who claims his cancer was caused by his use of Bayer’s chemical weedkiller Roundup.
This case made against Bayer is one of thousands of similar cases alleging health issues due to exposure to Roundup, with the total amount in legal damages well into the billions. If the Supreme Court does take up this case and ruled in favor of Bayer, it would create a legal precedent for all of those cases.
Bayer recently won its third-consecutive product-liability trial in Missouri last week. The other two cases were also decided by jury in California last year.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the Supreme Court justices as they consider hearing the appeal by Bayer.
- For members of Congress as additional funding for security for the justices has been approved.
- For U.S. officials in the FDA and USDA as chemicals and substances are researched for adverse health effects.
