Experienced officials will visit school and local offices.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced this past week that the Justice Department will be sending a team to review law-enforcement response to the shooting of an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. The team includes officials experienced with previous mass shootings, and they will visit both the school and local offices to interview those involved and create an accurate picture of how the shooting transpired.
“Nothing can undo the pain that has been inflicted on the loved ones of the victims, the survivors, and the entire community of Uvalde,” stated Attorney General Garland. “But the Justice Department can and will use its expertise and independence to assess what happened and to provide guidance moving forward.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Attorney General Garland as he sends the team to investigate the response of law enforcement to the mass shooting.
- For the investigators to be discerning as they gather information.
- For wisdom for federal, state, and local law enforcement as they respond to civil unrest and violence.
