Partners with large companies to plan for economic investment.
The White House announced on Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris is bringing together large corporations to help address the “root causes of migration” from countries in Central America. Companies like Visa, Microsoft, and Gap Inc. have pledged more than $3.2 billion to help develop permanent, living wage jobs, improve internet access, and create education scholarships in countries throughout the area from which migrants are most likely to come.
“The Biden-Harris Administration recognizes that long-term development in northern Central America requires more than just the resources of the U.S. Government,” stated the White House. “Taken together, these investments are creating an ecosystem of opportunity and helping to provide hope for people in the region to build safe and prosperous lives at home.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the vice president to seek God’s wisdom as she supports U.S. companies investing in Central American nations.
- For U.S. officials to be discerning as they promote the economic development of other countries.
- For the president and his administration as they address record numbers of migrants entering the U.S.
