The U.S. Coast Guard is having a change of command as Admiral Karl Schultz is relieved as the Commandant of the Coast Guard by Admiral Linda Fagan. President Joe Biden is participating in the ceremony this morning.
Both the first woman to lead a branch of the U.S. military service and the first female four-star admiral, Admiral Fagan is the longest-serving active-duty Marine Safety Officer, which earned her the Coast Guard’s first-ever Gold Ancient Trident in 2017.
This afternoon, President Biden will hold a virtual meeting with baby formula manufacturers about accelerating production. The president will also discuss facilitating the import of formula with administration officials. Under Operation Fly Formula, planes have already brought in formula from Switzerland and Germany. The United Kingdom and Australia have also recently committed to sending baby formula to the U.S.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Admiral Fagan to be led by the Lord as she assumes her role as commandant of the Coast Guard.
- For all Coast Guard personnel as they protect U.S. waters and coasts.
- For discernment for the president and his administration as they seek to resolve the baby formula shortage.
- With gratitude for the nation’s flying baby formula to the U.S.
