Weapons provided by U.S. strengthen counteroffensive cause.
Pentagon press official David Vergun recently reported the impact the U.S. weapons provided to Ukraine are having on the battlefield. Particularly, the howitzers are being used by the Ukrainian army to begin moving from defensive to counteroffensive strategies. In the Donbas region of Ukraine, the use of these weapons has helped Ukraine begin to push Russian forces out of towns they had taken earlier in the war.
“We do believe that the howitzers … are having an impact, particularly in Kharkiv,” said the Defense Department official. “Now is that the only reason? I don’t think we would go that far to say that, but we do believe that the systems they’re getting — not just the U.S. systems but the systems from other countries — are absolutely helping them regain some momentum and to take back some territory.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For U.S. military leaders and officials as they assess the needs of the U.S. against the military aid provided to Ukraine.
- For the president and his administration as they continue to send assistance to Ukraine.
- For members of Congress as they continue to financially support Ukraine.
