On his second day in Japan, President Joe Biden is meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India at Kantei Palace in Tokyo. The president will then meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia.
The president’s spokesperson said ahead of the meeting with Prime Minister Modi that President Biden would “talk to Prime Minister Modi about how the U.S. and India can continue the really extraordinary work that has been done over the past 22 years to strengthen and develop the relationship.“
Prime Minister Albanese was sworn in just Sunday. In his concession speech, former Prime Minister Scott Morrison mentioned the importance of conceding so the new prime minister would be able to represent Australia at the Quad. Today will be the new Australian prime minister’s first bilateral meeting.
