In the News…
In testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo defended the department’s investigation of solar panel component manufacturers, saying she hoped to conclude it as quickly as possible.
The investigation, initiated in March, involves allegations that solar panel component manufacturers in several Southeast Asian nations were fronts for Chinese component firms seeking to avoid U.S. tariffs.
A California representative alleged that the investigation has delayed more than 300 projects and “could cost us 100,000 American solar jobs and jeopardize our common clean energy goals.”
“I’ve heard from many of you and many in the industry, and I share the sense of urgency,” Secretary Raimondo said. “I understand how fragile the solar supply chain is and how we need to move forward.”
