Today, First Lady Jill Biden is in Bucharest, Romania. On Friday, the first lady visited Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base near the Black Sea, where she assisted in serving dinner to U.S. troops. The base is about 60 miles from the Ukrainian border.
Mrs. Biden expressed her thanks to the troops and acknowledged that, as they serve, their families serve as well.
The first lady will be visiting refugees from Ukraine during her remaining time in Romania and as she goes on to Slovakia. “It’s so important to the president and to me that the Ukrainian people know that we stand with them,” she said. “I know that we might not share a language, but I hope that I can convey, in ways so much greater than words, that their resilience inspires me, that they are not forgotten, and that all Americans stand with them still.”
President Joe Biden is at his home in Delaware today. He has no public events scheduled on his agenda at this time.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For safe travels for the first lady as she visits U.S. troops and Ukrainian refugees.
- For the president and his advisors as he nominates and appoints officials to his administration.
- That the president would turn to the Lord for wisdom and direction as the nation faces increasing inflation and economic challenges.
