Says Russia has “all the tools to do this.”
On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged “lightning” fast strikes on any nation that “interferes” with its war in Ukraine. “If anyone ventures to intervene from the outside and [pose] unacceptable threats of a strategic nature to Russia, they should know that our counter-retaliatory strikes will take place with lightning speed,” he said.
“We have all the tools to do this. The kind that no one else can boast of right now,” he said, alluding to their recent deployment of a hypersonic missile. “And we will not boast, we will use them if necessary. I want everyone to know that,” the Russian president continued. “The decisions have been made in this regard.”
Although the Russian president did not mention nuclear weapons directly, his comments were viewed as referring to the nuclear-weapons-carrying capacity of the Sarmat 2 nuclear missile which was launched for the first time just days ago and that he boasted is unlike any other weapon in the world.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the president and his military advisors in responding to the threat of nuclear attack.
- For Secretary of State Blinken and diplomats who are conferring with international leaders.
- For Secretary Austin as he oversees the U.S. Defense Department.
