President’s administration plans to end Title 42 in late May.
The attorneys general of Arizona, Louisiana, and Missouri have filed suit against President Biden’s administration challenging the plan to end Title 42 on May 23. Title 42 is a measure that was instituted in March 2020 to turn asylum seekers away from the United States for the sake of public health.
The lawsuit states the order is a “safety valve preventing… unmitigated chaos and catastrophe.” However, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Monday that the lawsuit misdefines Title 42. “It’s not an immigration, migration enforcement measure, and the decision on when to lift Title 42 was made by the CDC,” she said, not the Homeland Security or Border Protection agencies.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for the federal judge considering the case brought by the states.
- For Director Walensky to seek God’s wisdom as she heads the CDC.
- For Border Patrol agents and immigration officials as they handle increasing numbers of migrants.
