Today, President Joe Biden will take part in several meetings with NATO partners, deliver remarks at the Extraordinary Summit of NATO Heads of State, speak at a G7 Leaders meeting, and address the European Council Summit. During each of these meetings, the president will discuss how world leaders can take additional measures to respond to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said before arriving in Brussels, Belgium, “Even though, institutionally, NATO is not engaged in it, how we make sure that we’re continuing to support Ukraine in its effort to defend itself.” The president will also discuss future deterrent measures “to the new security reality that’s been created both by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and by what’s happening in Belarus,” Advisor Sullivan added.
In conjunction with the meetings with G7 leaders and as a part of the European Council Summit, the president is expected to announce another round of U.S. sanctions on Russian officials and oligarchs
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to guide the president and administration officials as they head the U.S. response to Russia.
- For wisdom for the president as he works with NATO and European partners.
- For God to be at work through the president and world leaders as they look for ways to bring about an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
