Statements issued to counter Russian reports regarding biological weapons.
The Department of State and the Department of Justice released statements last week saying that the United States is not assisting Ukraine against Russia’s attack with biological weapons. The development and use of biological weapons were banned by the United Nations in 1975. The Department of State went on to claim that Russia currently has biological weapons programs.
“Russia has a track record of accusing the West of the very crimes that Russia itself is perpetrating,” State Department spokesperson Ned Price said. “These tactics are an obvious ploy by Russia to try to justify further premeditated, unprovoked, and unjustified attacks on Ukraine. We fully expect Russia to continue to double down on these sorts of claims with further unfounded allegations.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Secretary of State Blinken as he heads diplomatic responses to foreign claims.
- For Defense Secretary Austin to seek God’s direction in replying to international reports.
- For the president and his advisors as they continue to determine next steps regarding Russia and Ukraine.
