Today, President Joe Biden will continue to work with administration officials and take part in briefings with the National Security Council regarding the conflict in Ukraine. The U.S., along with NATO and European Allies, are applying additional sanctions on both Russia and Russia’s leadership and will add further measures to hold Russia accountable for the invasion of Ukraine.
In a joint statement with allies, the president said, “Russia’s war represents an assault on fundamental international rules and norms that have prevailed since the Second World War, which we are committed to defending. We will hold Russia to account and collectively ensure that this war is a strategic failure for Putin.”
He concluded, “We stand with the Ukrainian people in this dark hour. Even beyond the measures we are announcing today, we are prepared to take further measures to hold Russia to account for its attack on Ukraine.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to guide the president and administration officials as they head the U.S. response to Russia.
- For wisdom for the president as he works with NATO and European partners.
- For God’s hand of protection over the U.S. service men and women stationed in Europe near the conflict zones.
