Secretary Blinken assists in diplomatic efforts.
Vice President Kamala Harris is in Germany heading the U.S. delegation attending the Munich Security Conference. She is meeting with heads of state from NATO member countries who neighbor Ukraine to discuss the Russian build-up of troops on the Ukraine border that threaten the region.
During her meeting with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, the vice president said, “We remain, of course, open to and desire diplomacy as it relates to the dialogue and the discussions we’ve had with Russia. But we are also committed – if Russia takes aggressive action – to ensuring there will be severe consequences in terms of the economic sanctions we have discussed.”
She added, “I am here to ensure that through our discussions, and the discussions I will have with other of our allies, that we continue as these hours and days progress to stay in close contact.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the vice president to seek God’s guidance as she leads the U.S. delegation in Munich.
- For wisdom for all members of the U.S. delegation and the leaders of NATO as they seek solutions to the tensions in Eastern Europe.
- For Secretary of State Blinken as he assists the vice president in diplomatic affairs.
