Reiterates U.S. commitment to Israel.
A congressional delegation of about a dozen U.S. legislators landed in Israel on Wednesday, with Speaker Nancy Pelosi heading the group. She will be meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during the delegation’s trip, and though legislators did not openly address the tension between Israelis and Palestinians, they highlighted their goal for mutual safety of both groups in the fight against terrorism.
“Our delegation brings the representation of the Congress’s bipartisan, bicameral commitment to an unbreakable bond between Israel and the United States built on mutual security, our economic interest and our common values, our commitment to democracy,” said Speaker Pelosi. “We’re together in the fight against terrorism posed by Iran, both in the region and also its nuclear development.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the House speaker to have discernment as she interacts with foreign heads of state.
- For the congressional delegation to seek God’s guidance as they seek to strengthen the relationship with Israel.
