If there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. – Philippians 4:8
Where’s Your Focus?
You have probably heard the saying, “I can do it if I put my mind to it.” And certainly, some things take more of one’s full attention or complete concentration than do other things. Today’s verse from Philippians begins by listing just what you should put your mind to: ”whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise.” It sounds easy, but a change in focus is often required. The greatest benefit from changing your focus to think about these things is how it will automatically change your attitude… about what is happening in the world, in the nation, in your community, in your family, in your own life. And won’t that be nice?
