President Biden’s promotion of the program has an impact.
President Biden stated on Thursday that the 14.5 million additional Americans got health insurance for 2022 through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). “This did not happen by accident,” the president said.
His administration has been holding special ACA signups and offering enhanced financial subsidies during the pandemic. New data from the CDC shows that through these efforts, one in seven uninsured people received coverage through the ACA for fiscal year 2021.
“Health care should be a right, not a privilege, for all Americans,” President Biden stated. “We are making that right a reality for a record number of people, bringing down costs and increasing access for families across the country.”
