Both leaders hope to build stability in Near East.
Jordan’s Foreign Minister Safadi made a trip to Washington D.C. last week and met with Secretary of State Antony Blinken in the Thomas Jefferson Room in the White House on Friday. They gave remarks before the meeting began, expressing a unified desire for cooperation and peace in a complex region of the world.
“Today, as we face many, many more challenges, bilaterally I think we will work hard,” Foreign Minister Safadi said to Secretary Blinken. “Your role is key in our joint effort to bring about peace, stability in the region, whether engaging in the peace process and creating political horizons, whether addressing the issues in Syria and Iraq and the refugees and terrorism and all that.”
