Citing Omicron surge in infections.
President Biden stepped up his promotion of COVID vaccination on Wednesday as cases reported across the United States rose to a new record high. He said those who are unvaccinated would suffer the worst of the Omicron variant infections. The president emphasized that vaccines, booster shots, and therapeutic drugs have mitigated the danger for the overwhelming number of Americans who are fully vaccinated.
“You can still get COVID but it’s highly unlikely, very unlikely, that you’ll become seriously ill,” the president said of vaccinated people. He also said more rapid antigen tests are being ordered, but it will be weeks or months before they are widely available.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president to seek God’s guidance as he and his advisors issue guidance on the virus.
- For hospital staff, physicians, and other health care providers who are burdened by the surge of infections.
- For U.S. officials who are working to roll out the antigen rapid tests.
