Support of NATO and the OSCE also promised
President Joe Biden continues to discuss a possible Russian invasion in talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The White House confirmed that President Biden spoke with the Ukrainian president on Sunday and reassured him of U.S. support were Russia to invade.
President Biden also promised Ukraine support by NATO and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). His promises come as the White House, European allies, and congressional lawmakers have expressed concerns over a possible Russian invasion.
The White House statement said the leaders expressed support for diplomatic efforts that are set to begin next week.
Moscow has denied reports of a potential invasion, while demanding NATO personnel withdraw from Ukraine and telling the U.S. to halt NATO expansion in Eastern Europe.
