The White House confirms the expiration of the federal student loans pause.
The White House stated this past week that President Joe Biden will allow the restart of federal student loan payments in February of 2022. High-profile members of the president’s party, such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, have encouraged President Biden to extend the loan freeze further. The president communicated that he would not mind a bill from Congress to ensure that happens, but will not extend the freeze without such action.
“A smooth transition back into repayment is a high priority for the administration,” stated White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. “In the coming weeks, we will release more details about our plan and will engage directly with student loan borrowers to ensure that they have the resources they need and are in the appropriate repayment plan,” she added.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God’s purposes would be fulfilled in the United States.
- For President Joe Biden to seek God’s will in making foreign and domestic policies.
- That Majority Leader Schumer and others would engage this topic with rational and constructive debate.
