The Labor Department says in their release of the November jobs report.
The Department of Labor released its report on the state of the labor market at the end of last week. The results of the report found that new unemployment requests had dropped to a record-breakingly low level of 184,000 last week. This is the lowest number since September of 1969. The four-week moving average also dropped to the lowest level since the start of the pandemic.
A total of just under 2 million Americans are currently receiving unemployment benefits. Since April of last year, the job market has regained nearly 18.5 million jobs but is still 3.9 million jobs short of its pre-pandemic levels. October also saw employers add 11 million new jobs. The unemployment rate also dropped to 4.2%
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to guide the Labor Department as it collects data about the job market.
- For the Lord to give Secretary Walsh wisdom as he leads the Labor Department
- That God would guide the president’s administration to help people have good jobs.
