Of the 11 million vaccines, over 9 million have been allocated to the African continent.
White House COVID-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients announced that the United States would be shipping 11 million doses overseas, with plans to deliver a total of 200 million doses to the world over the next 100 days. 9 million of this wave of shipments will be delivered to various countries across Africa, which is currently seeing a rise in cases of the Omicron variant.
“Let me be clear: Not a single vaccine dose America ever sends to the rest of the world will ever come at the expense of any American,” President Biden said. “But vaccinating the world is not just a moral tool, a moral obligation that we have, in my view; it’s how we protect Americans, as we’re seeing with this new variant. America is doing our part, and we’ll do more. But this is a global pandemic, and everyone needs to fight it together.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Jeff Zients as he spearheads the upcoming efforts in vaccine distribution.
- That these 11 million doses would reach their destinations free from interference or delay.
- That God would use the efforts made by the United States to be a blessing to the world.
