January 6 House committee to ask questions on organization of rally.
The House select committee investigating the events of January 6 of this year, issued subpoenas to Roger Stone and Alex Jones this week. Both men are among those called by the Congressional committee to explain their participation in planning the political rally that took place prior to the protest and incursion that took place within the Capitol Building.
Chairman of the committee, Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, said, “We believe the witnesses we subpoenaed today have relevant information and we expect them to cooperate fully with our effort to get answers for the American people about the violence of January 6th.” Roger Stone, a political advisor of former President Trump was slated to speak at the rally. Alex Jones was a speaker at the event and organized a donation of what he described as “80 percent” of the funding for the rally.
