President calls for research into toxic environments.
During his remarks on Veterans Day, President Biden laid out his administration’s plan to address the hazardous conditions that U.S. servicemembers face in the line of duty. Specifically, toxic burn pits have led to high rates of cancer for those who were exposed. President Biden’s son Beau was exposed to those conditions and later died of aggressive brain cancer.
The White House issued a statement about the work that needs to be done, saying, “While the federal government has taken some steps to address these issues, including implementing registries to track veterans exposed to potentially hazardous substances, the Biden-Harris Administration is committed to doing more to enable timely access to services and benefits for those potentially exposed to hazardous materials.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Biden to seek God’s discernment as he directs his administration to preserve the health of the country’s servicemembers.
- For officials in the Defense Department to keep U.S. troops safe.
- For Secretary McDonough as he leads the VA in providing care for the nation’s veterans.
