President Joe Biden will meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen this morning. Their discussion will continue the renewed partnership and cooperative effort on reducing carbon emissions produced by steel that was forged at the G20 conference in Italy a week ago.
The president will head to Baltimore, Maryland, in the afternoon. He will visit the Port of Baltimore to promote the newly passed Infrastructure legislation funding to renovate U.S. ports.
The White House said they plan to move quickly on a $17 billion renovation of the ports approved under the infrastructure bill. The $17 billion will “improve infrastructure at coastal ports, inland ports, and waterways, and land ports of entry along the border,” the White House stated.
