Those crafting the bill have gotten “90%” of the legislation sorted out.
On Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi indicated that the House of Representatives was close to a vote on the administration’s spending package. She expects that the spending bill will be voted on this week, as well as a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill that has already been passed by the Senate.
According to Speaker Pelosi, the majority party has “90% of the bill agreed to and written. We just have some of the last decisions to be made.” Those decisions include determining the final spending cap, and how much will go toward hotly debated issues including spending to offset the effects of climate change. She also noted that the initial goal of a $3.5 trillion package is no longer realistic stating that the final amount is “less than we had projected, to begin with.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Speaker Pelosi to seek God’s guidance as she brings the legislative agenda to the House floor.
- For the House and Senate to come to an agreement on bills that benefit the country.
- That President Biden to have discernment as he works with federal legislators.
