Today, the president is expected to remain at the White House and, beyond his daily briefing, he has no public events on his schedule at this time. As Congress returns from recess today, both chambers are expected to continue to negotiate spending bills, infrastructure plans, and a potential increase in the nation’s debt ceiling. While several stop-gap measures were passed, Congress will have to reach longer-term agreements before their new deadline of December 3rd.
White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that President Joe Biden is planning to continue meeting with legislators this week. “The bipartisan infrastructure Plan is part of his economic policy that is a priority to him, incredibly important”, he said. “He will continue to have meetings and have conversations, as will high-level White House officials will continue to do, as we’ve been doing the past several months to make sure that we move forward with both bills.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to be at work through the president and Congress’s negotiations on spending bills.
- For wisdom for the president as he considers, signs, or vetoes any bills and legislation that Congress passes.
- For God’s will and purposes to be accomplished through the ongoing infrastructure negotiations.
