Today, President Joe Biden will take part in the first-ever in-person meeting of the Quad Leaders. According to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, “President Biden is looking forward to welcoming to the White House Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, and Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga of Japan.”
When speaking about their agenda, she added, “The Quad Leaders will be focused on deepening our ties and advancing practical cooperation on areas such as combatting COVID-19, addressing the climate crisis, partnering on emerging technologies and cyberspace, and promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific.”
The president will also host separate bilateral meetings with Indian Prime Minister Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Suga to discuss issues that are unique to the United States’ relationship with each respective country.
