Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. – Ephesians 6:1
Be Like Him
A number of years ago, a commercial for a power drink said “Be Like Mike” and featured basketball legend Michael Jordan in a scrimmage with a number of children. The objective, of course, was that they should drink the power juice, but the kids’ goal was to play ball more like Mike. Today’s verse says we are to be like children following in the footsteps of our Father… just as small children imitate what they see a parent doing. God, whose love is beyond all measure, is eager that you should love as He does. In Matthew chapters 5 and 6, Jesus outlines what that love should look like. Ponder His words today, check your love quotient, and get busy with Being Like God.
