Will work with local communities to develop clean energy solutions.
Last week, the Department of Energy announced a new initiative designed to help empower local climate activists. The Local Energy Action Program (LEAP) will work with local communities with a historical tie to coal, gas, and oil companies take control of converting to a cleaner renewable energy future.
“Clean energy is a doorway to a healthier and more prosperous future, but for too long those doors have been closed to many of our nation’s communities,” Energy Secretary Granholm said. ”By providing unprecedented access to some of the nation’s top experts, DOE’s Communities LEAP initiative is supporting those who have carried the weight of powering our nation to develop their own solutions for ensuring a sustainable future – one that will benefit all Americans.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Energy Department officials as they seek to promote healthy environments.
- For Secretary Granholm to seek God’s direction in caring for His creation.
- That the LEAP would be an effective and beneficial bridge between the government and local communities.
