He who calls you is faithful. – 1 Thessalonians 5:24
What words come to you when you think of faithfulness? Dependable, reliable, trustworthy, steadfast, true, loyal, committed, unwavering, consistent… you could add more. In a world filled with unfaithfulness, people fall, falter, forget, forsake their commitments, and fail on a regular basis. The only One who is absolutely faithful in all things and at all times is your Heavenly Father.
When it comes to God, He says what He means and does what He says. The psalmists knew well the faithfulness of God – how it is forever, immeasurable, great, and it covers Him. How do you know God is faithful? Creation declares it; the Bible records continual historical accounts of it; people tell stories of His faithfulness; you have personally experienced it at some point in your walk with the Lord; and Scripture declares God’s faithfulness no matter the circumstances.
His faithfulness is not just for today, it is eternal. Because of His promises, even though circumstances may be dire, like those being experienced by believers who cannot escape the Taliban or the Chinese Communist Party, everyone who has placed their trust in Jesus has a promised everlasting future inheritance far beyond imagination. If you have not surrendered your life to the Lord, won’t you consider it today? He is faithful to forgive sins, to cleanse you, to keep you, to protect you, and to never leave you. What a wonderful way to live!
Pray today for government officials in their dealings with peoples and nations who persecute believers. Pray for continued freedom to practice your faith in America.
Today’s Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:24

I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever;
with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
2 For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever;
in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.”
3 You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one;
I have sworn to David my servant:
4 ‘I will establish your offspring forever,
and build your throne for all generations.’” Selah
5 Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord,
your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones!
6 For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord?
Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord,
7 a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones,
and awesome above all who are around him?
8 O Lord God of hosts,
who is mighty as you are, O Lord,
with your faithfulness all around you?
9 You rule the raging of the sea;
when its waves rise, you still them.
10 You crushed Rahab like a carcass;
you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
11 The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours;
the world and all that is in it, you have founded them.
12 The north and the south, you have created them;
Tabor and Hermon joyously praise your name.
13 You have a mighty arm;
strong is your hand, high your right hand.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.
