O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O Lord, with your faithfulness all around you? – Psalm 89:8
Curves in the road. Financial difficulties. Relationship changes. Physical limitations or ailments. Many people are facing such scenarios right now. Where is God when life does not look promising? He has not left you.
Job was one of the greatest men in his time but, within a day, he lost it all, property, children, wealth, health, and the support of his wife. One thing to learn from this good man in legitimate despair was that he did not give up what he knew to be true. In his pain, he momentarily felt that God had let him down, yet before he could finish that thought, he also uttered one of the most hopeful statements in all of Scripture: “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God” (Job 19:25-26). Where did he get such a perspective amidst total devastation?
The reality of God’s faithfulness is not reflected in the comfort level of your life. Regardless of the circumstances, His promises are trustworthy. He does not and cannot lie. When you confess, He forgives and provides the Comforter to help you pray. He will not abandon you and He remains available to you even when your faith is faltering.
Things turned out well for Job, but there are plenty of examples in the Bible where circumstances remained unresolved on the earthly side. Pray today for believers in public service, not to let their faith be derailed by the complications of their office. Like Job, ask they will be valiant in their faith, embracing the faithfulness of God.

19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
