Credits their support in the airlift out of Afghanistan.
This past week, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin took a moment to express appreciation for the United States’ allies and their support of the massive withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan. A total of 124,000 people were airlifted out of the country, as the U.S. concluded the 20-year war. The Defense Department received support from the militaries of Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Secretary Austin recognized the support of these nations, stating, “Our allies and partners have enabled us to do things that have never been done before. This was the largest airlift in history. The ability to shuttle back and forth and lift out as many people as we did, as fast as we did could not have happened without partners in this region and in Europe.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For officials in the Defense Department to maintain a strong deterrence against foreign advisories.
- For Secretary Austin to seek God’s guidance as he heads the U.S. military.
- That the president’s administration would have discernment to keep the country safe.
