Today, President Joe Biden will be traveling to New Jersey to tour areas affected by Hurricane Ida. He will meet with state and local officials at the Somerset County Emergency Management Training Center in Hillsborough Township to receive a briefing on recovery efforts. He will then go to Manville, New Jersey, to survey the damage and progress being made in the community.
The president stated while touring communities in Louisiana last Friday, “Hurricane Ida is another reminder that we need to be prepared for the next hurricane and superstorms that are going to come, and they’re going to come more frequently and more ferociously.”
President Biden has approved disaster declarations for New York and New Jersey after catastrophic flooding caused by the storm, as well as those Gulf states that bore the brunt of the hurricane.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and state and local leaders as recovery efforts continue.
- For President Biden and his advisors to seek God’s direction as they consider policies and programs for the nation.
- For FEMA officials as they coordinate aid and assistance in the states experiencing the aftermath of the hurricane.
