Zip Tied

Present your bodies as living sacrifices… which is your spiritual worship. – Romans 12:1

Binding is necessary at times. Using zip ties is effective and fast! In 1958, Maurus C. Logan faced a need to hold wiring in airplanes together and, in his invention of the zip tie, he found a way to do it! Today, the little self-locking loops are used in everything from surgical procedures to the military.

Living a life of faith can be challenging. You are likely to face systems or institutions that are unreceptive to your Christian values. The sacrifices you are called to make in business and relationships are becoming greater as the culture moves farther away from Godly principles.

Jesus also faced great tests to His faith. After forty days without food, He was at the edge of human endurance. Yet He overcame the temptation to fall back from His calling! His faith was not tethered to a movement He was creating, or a political philosophy He was advocating, it was “zip-tied” to the character and will of God, His Father. In submission to God’s will, Jesus accomplished all the work He was called to do on Earth.

You may also be called to make difficult choices or sacrifices. Bind your belief to God’s will alone by seeking Him through Jesus, His Son. Christ can guide you because He has walked the road of hard choices Himself! Pray for people of faith serving in positions of authority around the world, and especially in the United States. Ask they would be “zip-tied” to God’s loving grace, moved by the desire to accomplish the work He has called them to do.

Today’s Verse: Romans 12:1

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
