It’s All About Relationship
The people of the Old Testament were under the covenant requirements of regular ceremonies in their remembrance of the Lord and His blessings upon them. God honored sacrifices and burnt offerings; but, even then, He wanted more. He called His people to love Him and get to know Him. He has the same desire today. Evaluate your devotional times. Is your Bible reading meaningful? Are your prayers intimate? Or have you placed yourself in your own legal bind with perfunctory devotions? Your daily ritual has its place, but it cannot and does not replace building a relationship with God… one based on loving and knowing Him.
