Federal judge orders the company to comply with the subpoena.
U.S. Federal Judge Dolly Gee has ordered SpaceX to fully comply with the Department of Justice’s subpoena for the company’s hiring records. An initial probe was launched after a discrimination complaint was filed by one of the company’s potential hirees in 2020, but SpaceX maintains that one complaint alone is not enough to warrant access to their full range of hiring records.
The Justice Department’s probe is investigating a complaint from an applicant who answered a citizenship status question while he sought a technical strategy associate position at the company. The department said it will not only probe this instance but ”may explore whether [SpaceX] engages in any pattern or practice of discrimination.”
