Today, President Joe Biden is in the United Kingdom. He is scheduled to meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Cornwall, England. The two leaders are expected to reaffirm the alliance between the U.S. and U.K.
President Biden and Prime Minister Johnson will discuss the consequences of Brexit on the relationship between the U.K. and Northern Ireland. The U.S. president has voiced concerns about the peace of the island as the British leave the European Union.
President Biden said before his trip, “Will the democratic alliances and institutions that shaped so much of the last century prove their capacity against modern-day threats and adversaries? I believe the answer is yes. And this week in Europe, we have the chance to prove it.”
