Today, President Joe Biden will begin an eight-day trip to the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Switzerland. The primary reason for the trip is the G7 summit which is to be held in Cornwall. Along with President Biden, leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the UK will be in attendance.
Ahead of the summit, President Biden said, “Will the democratic alliances and institutions that shaped so much of the last century prove their capacity against modern-day threats and adversaries? I believe the answer is yes. And this week in Europe, we have the chance to prove it”
The president and first lady will arrive at the Royal Air Force base in Mildenhall in the afternoon where he will meet with U.S. Air Force personnel and families stationed there.
In the evening, they will travel to Tregenna Castle, St. Ives, United Kingdom, where they will stay overnight.
