New information about Wuhan lab sparks renewed questions.
On Thursday, President Biden announced that he had instructed intelligence agencies to focus more of their attention on the origin of the COVID-19 virus. Recent reports from China support the theory that it may have been released from a laboratory in Wuhan. According to the president, there are two plausible scenarios that need more evidence before his administration takes necessary action.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki stated that President Biden “felt that it was important given a lot of confusion out there to make public, not only what the [Intelligence Community] had done, but also to expand the investigation for 90 days, add more components of the federal government, including our national labs and our health and medical expertise.”
