President’s administration making progress toward wind power goals.
On Tuesday, the Department of the Interior announced that it had reached a deal with the state of California to set aside new areas off the coast of the state for new offshore wind generation. President Biden’s administration has set a goal of creating power plants capable of generating 30 gigawatts of offshore wind power by 2030. The new locations in California are projected to create up to 4.6 gigawatts, enough to power 1.6 million homes.
Secretary Haaland said of the progress, “Today’s announcement reflects months of active engagement and dedication between partners who are committed to advancing a clean energy future. The offshore wind industry has the potential to create tens of thousands of good-paying union jobs across the nation, while combating the negative effects of climate change.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president to have discernment as alternate power sources are implemented.
- For the Interior Department to be a good steward of God’s creation.
- That Secretary Haaland would be given wisdom on how best to lead the department.
