Enlisting help to tackle the southern migration issue at its source.
On Friday, Vice President Harris met with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to discuss ways that both governments can help relieve the unstable circumstances plaguing Central America. More than 172,000 migrants were taken in at the southern border in the last month alone, the highest number in the last 20 years.
The American vice president contends that residents of the Central American countries “don’t want to leave home,” but do so “because they are fleeing some harm, or they are forced to leave because there’s no opportunity in their home. It is in our countries’ mutual interest to provide immediate relief to the Northern Triangle, and to address the root causes of migration.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Vice President Harris as she advocates for immigration reform.
- That Mexican President Obrador would have wisdom in his reponse to immigration.
