VERSE OF THE WEEK
For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes that is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before the nations. – Isaiah 61:11
How Does Your Garden Grow?
It is the gardening time of year. Whether you plant a few pots to line your sidewalk, a vegetable garden, or plow and seed major acreage, it is the season that God has established for the beginning of new life for things that sprout boldly from the ground. Of course, gardens and fields need tending. The soil might need to be enriched, the seeds sown at proper depths, rows cultivated to keep down weeds. But the reward of diligently keeping a garden pays off with a bountiful harvest of flowers or good things to eat. The Lord wants you to tend to your spiritual “garden” as well. Enrich your soil with time in His Word. Nurture seeds of righteousness and keep the “weeds” at bay with regular prayer time. God desires that you should flourish. Just as your garden abounds with all manner of flowers and fruits, your life should be full of joy, thankfulness, and praise to God in a harvest others can observe and for which He alone gets the credit.
