White House roundtable announces national goal.
The secretaries of the Departments of Energy, Commerce, and the Interior recently had a round table discussion during which they announced the national target of deploying 30 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind power by 2030. The goal is expected to create over 70,000 jobs in the industry and provide power to more than 10 million homes in the U.S. while eliminating 78 million metric tons of carbon emissions.
“This offshore wind goal is proof of our commitment to using American ingenuity and might to invest in our nation, advance our own energy security, and combat the climate crisis,” said Energy Secretary Granholm. “DOE is going to marshal every resource we have to get as many American companies, using as many sheets of American steel, employing as many American workers as possible in offshore wind energy—to drive economic growth from coast to coast.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
