Treasury Department reports roughly $372 billion distributed.
The Treasury Department announced on Wednesday that it has recently surpassed 156 million payments to individuals as a part of the recently passed $1.9 trillion relief package. A major part of the announcement was that 25 million of those payments were to Social Security recipients who had not filed 2019 or 2020 tax returns.
A total of about $372 billion has been paid out to individuals. Among those Americans who have received payments, 33% reported that it would be used to pay bills, and another 21% to pay off debt. Another 16% of Americans stated they would increase their spending as a result. Lastly, 3% said would help their friends and family with the money.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That Secretary Yellen would seek God’s guidance as she leads the Treasury Department.
- That God’s will would be accomplished as the president’s administration attempts to lead the nation out of economic hardship.
