Capitol police officers injured and killed.
On Friday afternoon, a car rammed a barricade outside the U.S. Capitol striking wo officers. One of the Capitol Police was killed and another injured. The driver was shot and killed after he exited the vehicle wielding a knife.
The Capitol complex was placed on lockdown after the incident, and the staff who were there were told they could not enter or exit the buildings. For the most part, members of Congress and their staff have been on recess during the week. The president and first lady are at Camp David to spend Easter with family,
As a precaution, National Guard have surrounded the Capitol. Investigations are underway.
