Voice unwavering American support for Ukraine.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Mark Milley both called their Ukrainian counterparts Wednesday to consult about the recent escalations in tensions between Russian-backed proxy forces and Ukrainian troops that threaten a ceasefire brokered last summer. Hundreds of ceasefire violations have been reported in recent days.
Last week, a mortar attack caused the deaths of four Ukrainian soldiers and wounded two others in the eastern part of the country. The Ukrainian military has claimed that Russian troops are responsible.
In his call with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Secretary Blinken affirmed unwavering American support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and labeled Russian actions as “ongoing aggression.”
General Milley spoke to the military chiefs of both Ukraine and Russia, but his office did not disclose any details of the conversations.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the U.S. military as they support allies in the face of violations of the ceasefire agreement.
- For wisdom for America’s political and military leaders in dealing with Russian actions in Ukraine.
- For U.S diplomats as they address Russia’s apparent attempts to reclaim Eastern Europe.
