Martin Luther is quoted as saying, “If you don’t believe in the devil, it’s because you’ve never resisted him.” There is a need for God’s strength and protection from this adversary who “prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). The enemy is alive and well. It is God’s promise to provide all you need for the battle.
Dr. J. Vernon McGee encourages you to “hold tenaciously to this little verse. The Lord is faithful. He will never, has never, let you down.” The Lord will establish you if you come to the Word of God and let it influence your life. Dwight L. Moody once said, “The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.” It is in Scripture that the Lord warns of the reality of evil and its impact on a person’s life. It is in the Word that you can come to know Christ as Savior, whose desire is a personal relationship with you. He is the ultimate solution, giving power to firmly establish believers from within and guard them on the outside from the assaults of the devil.
“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen” (Jude 24). The road may be difficult. In today’s world, government mandates may be contrary to God’s Word. Only the Lord can sustain you… and He is faithful! Cherish that truth.
